Tips for solvers
- Clues that link two non-person categories (“the pilot works in the lab”) are the key: mark them in the lower blocks and copy every consequence across.
- If you are stuck, pick the row with the fewest open cells and test each option against all the clues.
Want different settings? The logic puzzle maker lets you choose size, difficulty and how many per page.
Questions people ask
What makes a logic puzzle hard?
More categories and more indirect clues. With four categories you must combine facts from different blocks (if the pilot works in the lab and Kai is not in the lab, Kai is not the pilot) rather than read answers straight off a clue.
Where can I find the original Einstein riddle?
The classic "zebra puzzle" was printed in Life International in 1962. It has 5 houses and 5 categories. You can build a 4-category grid of your own in the logic puzzle maker.
How do I print without the answers?
Untick "Print answers" before printing. Answers are on a separate page, so you can also just print page 1.
Can I make my own instead?
Yes. The logic puzzle maker makes new puzzles with your own settings in a second.
