Tips for solvers

  • Do the first puzzle together and say each step out loud: “Ava’s pet is not the cat, so I put a cross here.”
  • Use a pencil so mistakes can be rubbed out.
  • Once 3×3 feels easy, try the 4-item puzzles on the printable logic puzzles page.

Want different settings? The logic puzzle maker lets you choose size, difficulty and how many per page.

Questions people ask

What age are these logic puzzles for?

Most children can solve a 3×3 grid from about age 7 with help, and on their own from about 8 or 9.

How do I explain a logic grid to a child?

Every person has exactly one of each thing. A cross means “definitely not”, a tick means “yes”. When a row has two crosses in a 3×3 block, the last square must be the tick.

How do I print without the answers?

Untick "Print answers" before printing. Answers are on a separate page, so you can also just print page 1.

Can I make my own instead?

Yes. The logic puzzle maker makes new puzzles with your own settings in a second.
